Course Synopsis
This course will prepare students to perform routine administrative duties in medical offices and clinics. Students will be instructed on proper telephone procedures, how to get patients, update and file medical records, fill out insurance forms and handle correspondence. Other topics will include scheduling appointments, arranging hospital admissions, and laboratory services. Various types of office equipment will be covered. This course will cover an extensive list of common medical terminology. Students will learn how to interpret the medical language and related to the medical field. Extensive training of the HIPAA regulations will be provided
The medical front office skills packet uses simulated computerized real life office tasks which will also include various forms currently used in the Doctor’s office.
Upon completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate of completion from Pee Dee Medical Training of LC.
