Course Synopsis

This program will cover the essential skills to become a dental assistant. Students will learn the role of the dental assistant. Students will gain the importance of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure that the dental office will run smoothly. Students would learn their responsibilities of assisting during procedures, prepare instruments, x-rays, educate patients and scheduling follow up appointments.
Students will gain both hands-on patient care and organizational support, and dental assistants are vital to the overall functioning and success of dental practice. Upon completing the class students will be eligible to take the Dental Assisting National Board.

Course Hours:

128 lecture/skills hours

160  clinical hours

Course Schedule:

4 hours x 2 days week for 16 weeks
Monday -Friday or Saturday and Sunday

If students wish to cancel enrollment, it must be done in writing. PDMCTC must be contacted within 3 business days of signing the enrollment agreement to receive a full Refund. After the 3rd day, $100.00 will be retained for the registration fee. The refund of payment may take up to 40 days.

Textbook, Supplies, First Aid, CPR , PPD, SLED, Professional Liability Insurance ,  Drug Screen and National Exam

Prerequisites:

 

Must be at least 18 years of age

Complete a 2 step TB skin test prior to clinic

SLED background check that meets approval

Must meet the PDMCTC administration Requirements
