Course Synopsis
An Online “hybrid” Pharmacy Technician course designed to provide students with a solid foundation in interpreting prescription, such as hard copies and electronic prescription, pharmacy calculations, pharmacy laws, compounding and packaging. This comprehensive educational tool complements the hands-on tasks that are crucial for delivering safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
Pharmacy technicians work in hospitals, pharmacies, drug stores, and grocery stores under the supervision of a license pharmacist. They are responsible for getting people the correct medication, giving clear instructions about how to take and store the medication, and answering any questions about medications. The online Pharmacy
Technician offers performance feedback as students navigate through the course and outline targeted activities to achieve skill proficiency.
Upon completing the course, students will receive a certificate of completion from PeeDee Medical Career Training Center and complete a Pharmacy Technician Registration Application located on the website under Apply for a
License at www.llr.sc.gov/bop/ and students are eligible for the national exam by NHA or PTCB. An examination is not required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician in South Carolina.
